WORLD NO.1 NELLY KORDA MAKES U.S. SOLHEIM CUP TEAM

Nelly Korda is the first player confirmed to be playing at the 2026 Solheim Cup. The American star, who is ranked No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, has secured her spot on the U.S. team after securing qualification through the U.S. Solheim Cup points standings with 2,603 points.
Korda sits 1,039.50 points ahead of her closest peer, Angel Yin who has 1,563.50 points and with only nine events remaining in the Qualifying Period, the Floridian cannot be surpassed.
The 27-year-old will be making her fifth Solheim cup appearance this September having already capture three LPGA Tour titles so far in 2026, including her third major at the Chevron Championship.
U.S. Solheim Cup Captain Angela Stanford has been following Korda’s dominant journey for the past several years and has served as an assistant captain for three American teams (2021, 2023 and 2024) of which Korda has been a member.
“I am truly excited Nelly is the first to qualify for our team,” said Stanford. “Nelly’s hard work, demeanor, and competitiveness make her an asset, and I can’t wait to watch her compete for the USA at Bernardus.”
Korda holds a Solheim Cup record of 10 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw. Alongside Allisen Corpuz, the duo is one of three undefeated U.S. partnerships that have played matches together at least four times. Korda and Corpuz also hold the U.S. Solheim Cup Team record for most foursomes matches won and most foursomes points won at four, respectively.
In the last edition of the Solheim Cup at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in 2024, Korda held a 3-1-0 record. She won each of her foursomes matches with partner Corpuz and a fourball match alongside Megan Khang before falling to Englishwoman Charley Hull in Sunday singles.
The Qualifying Period for the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup Team began at the 2024 FM Championship and will conclude following the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open. The top seven players in the U.S. Solheim Cup points standings that have not already clinched will then be named to the team. They will be joined by the top two players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings who are not already qualified and three captain’s picks.
